'After many years of drawing and painting, I first started sculpting in 2001 and worked as a sculptor part time until 2007 when my work was successfully received at a group show in Hampstead, North London.
I began my training with classes in a North London sculpting studio followed by more formal studies to learn specific techniques by attending courses at St Martin’s School of Art, Meltdowns foundry and City Lit. Most recently, I have studied Wood and Stone sculpting with Alexandra Harley ARBS and have just returned from learning further stone carving techniques at the Corsinni studio in Carrera in Italy.
My work always comes back to abstracting the form, playing with the lines, shapes and surfaces of the body with movement, dance and music as recurring central themes. My major influences are the British expressionist figurative sculptors such as Reg Butler, Lynn Chadwick and Kenneth Armitage'.
