Philip Richardson Exhibition: 9th - 26th May

Philip's dedication to his art and painting in particular is seen through his work. Paint surface, colour and composition have always been important to him. The immediacy conveyed in his paintings is deceptive; an image emerges from the carefully chosen colours, shapes and marks that build up to complete a picture. His paintings are meditative, pure and involving - a delight to have in any home. And, Philip's passion and modesty are highlighted when he says "Art is a challenge I find enormously exciting -there is always so much still to do, so much to learn ..."
This exhibition is really worth the visit to Highgate. The rich colour and seemingly casual application of paint in Philip's compositions disguises the meticulous mark by mark process and studied attention to detail that is characteristic of his work.
