Georgia Elliot

Expressive contemporary paintings rooted in landscape, light and memory.

Georgia Elliott is a contemporary British landscape painter whose work is an intuitive, expressive response to her surroundings. Living in the English countryside she works both on location and back in her studio.

Available Work

Georgia has a diverse creative background, including printmaking, textiles and freelance illustration, along with a BA (Hons) in Illustration. After relocating from Brighton to the countryside (Buckinghamshire) in 2018, Georgia began painting landscapes from memory; but this evolved into a deeper exploration of place, emotion and sensory experience.

At first, being out in the landscape might feel quiet, calm, but Georgia notices that it’s not quiet at all. It's alive with movement, sound, energy and life. Her work feels alive as she seeks to translate this felt experience. Paint is applied in bold, layered gestures with brushes, rags and bare hands, resulting in dynamic, tactile surfaces.

“Paint feels like an extension of my hand, when I'm in flow, my hands move faster than my thoughts. Colours, light, shape, sound, energy, everything is pulled from my surroundings onto the canvas, layering and shifting until the story of that moment feels heard.”

Georgia exhibits with galleries across the UK, along with establishes art fairs. Her work has been displayed at London’s Oxo Tower as part of the Chaiya Art Prize, and she has collaborated with John Lewis on a number of art prints and worked with influencer Lydia Millen to paint her garden ‘The Secret Garden’ series. Her work has been seen in Good Housekeeping, Instyle magazine & the Cambridge Critique after her solo exhibition in 2023. Her paintings are held in private homes and commercial spaces worldwide; across the UK, Europe, Canada, America & Australia.
